CANNABIS 101
What’s the difference between THC and CBD?
THC and CBD are both present in cannabis plants. The short answer is that THC provides a “high” and is psychoactive. CBD is non-psychoactive, meaning that it won’t provide a “high,” and demonstrates anti-inflammatory effects. THC and CBD complement each other and can intensify each other’s positive effects – this is called the Entourage Effect. Why is it important to only shop at legal cannabis retailers?
Highway Cannabis Co is a legal and fully-licensed California cannabis retailer. All cannabis products sold in our store are tracked from seed to sale by the state of California to ensure safety and quality. California also requires all products to be tested by third party testing facilities on a full-spectrum panel for potency, mold, mycotoxins, and harmful pesticides.
Without these regulations and testing requirements in place for legal cannabis dispensaries harmful chemicals could be used in the growing of flower. This is dangerous because when fire is applied to the chemical (aka lighting your bowl or joint), the combination can create carcinogens that are toxic to your body. Shopping legal is the only way to ensure you are purchasing and consuming products that are regulated for safety
How can I tell the difference between legal and illegal cannabis shops?
Believe it or not, there are currently more illegal cannabis dispensaries and delivery services than legal ones in the state of California. Learn how to stay safe by identifying legal vendors. The easiest way to ensure you are shopping at a licensed facility is to check their license! All shops must post their license and QR code at the entrance area of the shop and on their website and advertising materials. Gab their license number and enter it in to the Department of Cannabis Control website cannabis license seach tool. You can also search your location for legal cannabis near me. Find out more about legal cannabis safety for consumers here.
Payment Types Accepted
Highway Cannabis Co accepts cash and debit at all of our retail locations. ATMs are available on-site. Please note, the ATMs are managed by third-party vendors and will cost a fee to use.
